Sónia Mota Ribeiro is an anthropologist, artist, and researcher in the fields of anthropology of art, anthropology of the environment, and cultural heritage. She is a PhD candidate at CRIA (Network Research Centre in Anthropology), with a project on the artisanal practice of clay figurines in Portugal, funded by the FCT (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology). She is part of the exploratory project IN2PAST 2LEGACY (2025-2026). She holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology (NOVA FCSH) and in Art (FBAUL), and has participated in seminars such as Anthropology of Skill and Craftwork (Royal Anthropological Institute), Arts, Activism and Memory (Latin American Council of Social Sciences), the International Heritage Sciences Summer School (CY Cergy Paris Université), and the Creativity and Artistic Creation Program (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation), among others.
