Geometry (2008)

There are two texts which simply alternate: you might almost believe they had nothing in common, but they are in fact inextricably bound up with each other, as though neither could exist on its own… but… only in their fragile over-lapping.

A play on editing. A text is deliberately fragmented just to be reorganized again during the video, creating a new set of possible readings. The editing of the text defines the editing of the video.

Work developed during the Video Art Course, part of the Creativity and Artistic Creation Program at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Presented at the session Twelve Positions in Process, at the Foundation Modern Art Center, curated by Filipa César. Displayed at Espaço Cabine of Galeria Sopro, in Lisbon, as part of the Screening Cabinet exhibition (2010).
