Large-scale format photographs.
This work is an exercise in transformation. A collection of notebooks, notepads, and diaries were methodically opened, separated, cut, displayed, superimposed, closed, and photographed. During this process, the parts were reorganized in a way that allows one to see the object beyond its initial purpose, without the form and utility usually attributed to it. The fragments of the initial set (covers, pages, spines, and scraps of paper) became assembled parts according to a new order. Each assembly is a brief construction recorded by photography and the only content that can be read and seen, focusing not on the texts written in the diaries and notebooks, but on the object itself and its materiality.
Project exhibited at the Lisbon Municipal Photography Archive (2009), at the Caroline Pagès Gallery (2011) and at Le Centre, in Lausanne (2015).
